Creating a healthy soil

At GardenPride we have an integrated approach to soil health. We base our approach on three pillars:

  • Soil balancing – Calcium, magnesium, sulphate and other minerals.

  • Microbial life – Organic fraction and microbial activity.

  • Plant needs – Address what we can’t get from soil and humus with chemical balance.

Our product range provides plant nutrition and diversity in microbial life, ensuring that we provide soil biology which improves your soil health.

We ensure that the SOIL FOOD WEB starts working for you.

An incredible diversity of organisms makes up the Soil Food Web. These organisms range in size from the tiniest one-celled bacteria, algae, fungi and protozoa, to the more complex nematodes and micro-arthropods, to the visible earthworms, insects, small vertebrates’, and plants. A series of conversions of energy and nutrients, as one organisim eats another, demonstrated in the diagram below.

All food webs are fuelled by the primary producers: the plants, lichens, moss, photosynthetic bacteria, and algae that use the sun’s energy to fix carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Most other soil organisms get energy and carbon by consuming the organic compounds found in plants, other organisms, and waste by-products.

As organisms decompose complex materials, or consume other organisms, nutrients are converted from one form to another, and are made available to plants and other soil organisms. All plants – grass, trees, shrubs, agricultural crops – depend on the soil food web for their nutrients.

We get nature to work FOR you NOT AGAINST you!
